IVI's message

What is the message of Invitation to Life? It’s the message of Jesus Christ. It’s a message of love, peace, life. It’s an invitation to life in all its plenitude, harmony with oneself and others. But this message is not only addressed to Christians. It’s destined for all, whatever their faith, believers or not. There is no need of a spiritual passport to take possession of the gift that exists within each of us - love. This is the apprenticeship, the adventure which we live in our groups, aided by prayer.

Discovering prayer

Everyone lives below their true potential as long as they’re not connected to God”

This unbreakable connection, which can be practised anywhere, at any time, is prayer. Prayer is the privilege of communicating with God without an intermediary, of being able to confide in our Creator who loves us without restriction. But it must be an immediately tangible experience which we feel in our deepest being. This is what we discover in Invitation to Life.

Learning to change your outlook

The first step is to learn to love yourself and to learn to forgive.

This profound reconciliation is the key to tasting the joy of living. It’s a liberation which enables us to see others not as potential aggressors, but as people with needs. Like ourselves, they need to be loved and listened to, and changing our outlook can lead us to a new sense of our existence. “Happiness is opening your heart to others”, says Yvonne Trubert.

Abandoning our fears

Much of our suffering arises when we attempt to protect ourselves from the outside world.

We believe that we’re acting in our own interests, but in fact, we are separating from the movement of Life. Continually wrapped up in the comfort of our shell, our soul shrivels, deprived of the love which gives us life. Abandoning our fears means moving ahead and moving confidently towards others.
